LaGrange College’s women’s basketball team lost to Greensboro in the regular season, but the rematch was a different story.


In the opening round of the USA South tournament at Ferrum College in Virginia, LaGrange College handled Greensboro 68-58 to advance to the semifinals.


LaGrange College will face a familiar foe in today’s semifinal matchup.


LaGrange College and Maryville will play at 5 p.m.., and it will be their third meeting of the season, with both teams having won on their home floor.


Maryville’s only conference loss came on Feb. 16 when it lost to LaGrange College 68-63.


In Thursday’s game, the Panthers trailed 25-23 at the half, but they outscored Greensboro 45-33 in the second half.


Alex Wilson led the Panthers with 16 points, Shaye Butler scored 14 points, and Kelsey Mitchell added 11 points.
