It was a winning road trip for the Callaway High soccer teams.

The Cavaliers overwhelmed Jackson-Atlanta 9-0, and the Lady Cavaliers won 3-1.

The Cavaliers (7-3 overall) improved their Region 4-AAA record to 2-1, and they’ve won three straight games since losing to Central-Carroll.

The Lady Cavaliers, meanwhile, got their first region win after two losses.

In the boys’ game, a pair of players notched hat tricks, with Kevin Craig and Kyle Jenkins each coming through with three-goal performances.

Cody Tucker, Brandt Pulliam and Tyler Neese each had one goal.

“It was a fun game,” Callaway coach Jake Hembree said. “I was able to get all my boys some good playing time.”

Things were a bit tighter in the girls’ game, with the Lady Cavaliers hanging on for the win.

Brittany Mitchell had a pair of goals for Callaway, and Christian Cox had one goal.

Callaway’s teams will be back home on Tuesday for a region doubleheader.

At 5:30 p.m., the Lady Cavaliers will play Coretta Scott King, and the Cavaliers will play B.E.S.T. Academy at 7:30 p.m.
