The LaGrange High tennis teams were too much for Spalding County on Wednesday.
The LaGrange boys’ team outlasted Spalding County 3-2, and the LaGrange girls won 4-1.
In the boys’ match, LaGrange won all three of the singles matches to secure the victory.
At number one singles, Connor Mahan rallied to beat Daniel Blake.
Mahan lost the first set 6-4, but he won the second set 6-2, and he then won a tie-breaker 10-8 to earn the win.
It was also close at number two singles, with Clay Dodson outlasting Andrew Winter.
Dodson won the first set 7-3 in a tie-breaker, and he won the second and deciding set 6-3.
At number three singles, P.J. Alford beat Barrett Lavender 6-2, 6-3.
At number one doubles, Spalding’s Luke Barlow and Benjamin Parker won a hard-fought match against Jas Singh and Tony Choi.
The Spalding duo won the first set 7-5, but Singh and Tony Choi won a second-set tiebreaker 7-5.
Spalding then won a tiebreaker 10-5 to win the match.
At number two doubles, LaGrange’s Garrett Cashwell and Canon Skinner bounced back from a 6-0 loss in the first set to win the second set 6-4.
Spalding’s Ben Eady and Chandler Pilad then won the tiebreaker 12-10.
In the girls’ match, LaGrange won both of the doubles matches, and two of the three singles matches.
At number one singles, LaGrange’s Katie Graham beat Hayley Bair 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
At number two singles, LaGrange’s Katie Bryant topped Mackenzie Dallas 6-4, 6-0.
Spalding’s lone win came at number three singles, with Garrett Mixon topping Abby Brock in straight sets.
At number one doubles, Jordan Reese and Jia Lee overwhelmed Madison King and Cora Pursley 6-0, 6-1, and Euna Oh and Lauren Kuerzi handled Georgia Inglis and Annabelle Jones 6-1, 6-2 at number two doubles.
On Tuesday, the LaGrange teams met their match against Carrollton.
Carrollton won both the girls and boys matches 5-0.
SOCCER: The Troup High teams were on the road against Columbus on Wednesday, and both teams fell short.
In the boys’ match, Columbus outlasted Troup 3-0.
In the girls’ match, Columbus rolled to a 9-0 win.
Troup’s teams will be back in action on Friday against LaGrange, with the girls’ game beginning at 5:30 p.m., and the boys’ game to follow.
