They finished the season in style.
The LaGrange College Panthers rallied to beat Methodist 8-6 on Sunday in their season finale.
The Panthers took two-of-three in the USA South series, and they closed the season with an overall record of 14-23, and they went 10-14 in the conference.
Before Sunday’s game, seniors Kyle Nerbonne and Gage Mooney were honored.
The Panthers then went out and rallied from a 6-4 deficit in the sixth inning to get the win.
The Panthers scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie it, and they pushed two more runs across in the seventh inning to take the lead.
Blake Schuck did some terrific work in relief to get the win.
Schuck pitched 3 1/3 innings to finish the game, and he didn’t give up a run.
Casey Bell finished his season by delivering a four-hit performance for the second straight day.
Bell was 4-for-4 with a triple, a double, and two RBIs.
Cain Sauls added two hits and two RBIs, and Keith Sims and James Maxwell each had a hit and an RBI.
Jim Reed added a hit and an RBI, and he scored three runs from his leadoff position.
Alec Redden had two hits.
On Saturday, the two teams played a doubleheader.
Methodist won the first game 9-3, but LaGrange College bounced back to win the second game 9-4.
Tyler Brooks pitched eight innings to get the win, and Schuck pitched a scoreless ninth inning.
Bell was 4-for-5 with three RBIs, and Sims was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Adam Terrinoni and Maxwell each had two hits and an RBI, and Chad Pigg also knocked in a run.
