Peace, love and paws is the theme of this year’s Fur Ball, the annual fundraiser for the LaGrange-Troup County Humane Society.
Tickets are $45 at the door of Lafayette Garden Inn at 7 p.m. Saturday. As always there is food and dancing, with music provided by deejay MC Dancealot. Sue Landa and Cecilia Kurland with their “Dixie Dancing Dogs” will provide special entertainment.
A silent auction with a number of items is the main fundraiser. Some of the items up for auction this year include donations from Windsor Salon, Bradley’s Antiques, Taste of Lemon, Superior Salon, Pizza Villa, Towne Fitness, Plum Southern, artist Chris Hagebak and many other vendors.
Someone could also win $500 in a raffle.
“This is our major yearly fundraiser, and we encourage you to review the items for the silent auction and please bid as big and as often as possible,” said Bill Harris, society president. “As usual, there are some very nice auction items for bid, and something for everyone.”
Harris said the group is always looking for volunteers.
“As always, we are in search of people to be members of the LTCHS, and to also be active volunteers,” he said. “We take our mobile unit for adoptions twice a month, but with more volunteers, we could take it out more often to afford more cats and dogs the chance to find a forever home. We have a job for most everyone, so please consider volunteering for as little or as much time as you can afford.”
