Leadership Troup, a program sponsored by the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce, recently named this year’s class of 27 participants at a breakfast held at the Del’avant.
Leadership Troup is a nine-month program designed to develop leadership skills and promote community involvement. Participants take part in sessions focusing on specific aspects of community life. In addition, each class completes a project related to a specific community concern.
The class of 2012-13 participants represent businesses, nonprofit organizations and government entities throughout Troup County. This year’s participants are Ramon Allen of Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services, Holly Anderson of Commercial Bank and Trust, Holly Britt of LaGrange Banking Co., Carrie Brkich of the Troup County Center for Strategic Planning, Wendell Clark of LaGrange College, Michael Davis of Mountville Mills, Davis Disbrow of West Georgia Health, Robert Fawley of the West Point Police Department, Josh Fernandez of Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia Inc., Mandy Hill of Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services, Jessica Holstun of Troup County School System, Jared Humphries of Interface, Jay Johnson of Langford Construction Company, Sana Muneer of West Georgia Physicians, Roderick “Poochie” Palmer of the West Point Fire Department, Lucinda Person of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Michael Pitts of West Point Fire Department, Shannon Powell of Lafayette Christian School, Jill Sistino of the Upper Chattahoochee River Keeper, Derek Staley of the West Point Fire Department, Koren Stapp of Emory Clark-Holder Clinic, Barbie Watts of Downtown LaGrange Development Authority, Megan Waycaster of the Chamber of Commerce, Gary Welborn of West Georgia Technical College, John Westmoreland of J.K. Boatwright & Co., Richard Williams of P&G Duracell and Gary Wood of Georgia Power Company.
“This year’s class truly represents all of Troup County,” said Leadership Troup Board Chair Mitch Key. “In this program, the community truly becomes the classroom. Through Leadership Troup, participants gain essential leadership skills as they apply their knowledge in helping to meet the needs of our community.”
More than 425 participants have completed the Leadership Troup program since its inception in 1991.
