Relevant experience: Owner of a successful small business, even through the recession, and dealing with the public for over 25 years. Managing my company’s finances. Board member of multi-million-dollar Florida condominium. Own and manage numerous rental properties. Treasurer of Troup UCC for two years.

Why are you running?

I am running so that I may be able assist in managing excess spending, which could lead to lower taxes. I would like to give the citizens of Troup County a prosperous place to live with new industry and employment. The citizens of LaGrange, Hogansville and West Point deserve to be heard. The citizens deserve to know exactly where their tax dollars are spent, without vague answers.

What is the biggest issue in the county right now?

I believe the biggest issue in the county right now is wasted tax dollars. The people of Troup County work hard for their money, and they deserve to know where it is being spent. All tax money should be accounted for, guaranteeing that it is being used for the good of the county as a whole.

What can you do to address this issue?

I believe regulations can be enforced that will stop wasteful spending of the tax dollars. We can review the budget and make further adjustments and cutbacks. I will try to work with fellow commissioners and department heads to itemize their budgets and see where we can minimize expenditures. This is something I have had to do with my own business.

Additional Comments

If the people of District 2 will give me a chance, I will work diligently to improve wasteful spending. I will search for new job opportunities that will lower the unemployment rate. I would like to explore the options for individual community activities for our children, i.e. neighborhood parks and playgrounds. I am willing to examine any other suggestions the public may have to offer. Please keep in mind – I am not a politician. I am a business man with our county’s future in mind.
