Members of the Hogansville Police Department spent Wednesday afternoon handing out gift baskets and other goodies to more than 150 residents.

Chief Moses Ector started the program a year ago. Sgt. Jeff Shepherd said the fruit baskets are delivered to residents on the department’s elderly check list, referrals from the Hogansville Pilot Club and other families in need.

Shepherd said the department also will be helping a few residents with utility bills this Christmas.
