Jerry Williams passed away on Friday at Lanier Memorial Hospital, Valley, Alabama.

He was born August 8, 1948 to the late Hattie Shears in West Point, Georgia.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and served faithfully as an Usher and Armour Bearer to Pastor Edmondson.

Jerry was a patrolman at heart, he parked cars at many events on duty or off duty. He was the only recognized unofficial policeman and fireman of the West Point Police and Fire Department.

Survivors include one brother, Roosevelt (Faye) Shears, West Point, GA: two sisters, Louise Fitzpatrick, Columbus, GA; and Annie Jo Williams, Macon, GA; two nephews, Randal (Lisa) Shears and Dontae (Angela) Shears, Valley, AL; two nieces, Angela (John) Reed, Marietta, GA; Shirley Jo Sheril, NY; special great nieces, nephews, a special friend, Ms. Dolly Mae Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church, West Point with Dr. W. T. Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Roosevelt and Faye Shears at 1009 Avenue K, West Point.
