Rev. Kenneth Parker, age 57, of LaGrange, passed away Monday at his residence.

Rev. Parker was a native of Troup County, born January 1, 1955 the son of Charlie Parker of LaGrange and the late Nira McRae Parker. Rev. Parker was a member of Roper Heights Baptist Church in West Point, the Troup County Baptist Association, and had served as pastor at Beach Springs Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, Gray Hill Baptist Church, and Hillcrest Baptist Church after being called into the ministry in 1985. He had a loving and giving heart and in 1991 started the Liberty Pest Control Company which he and his family operates with success.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Teresa Parker, a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Parker Hicks and Larry Hicks, a son and daughter –in-law, Michael and Jenny Parker, four granddaughters, Valarie Hicks, Natalie Hicks, Molly Parker, and Emily Parker, his father, Charlie Parker all of LaGrange, sisters, Sheila and David Beard of Franklin, and Sharon Parker of LaGrange, brothers, Hugh and Sue Parker of Cleveland TN., Vernon and Melinda Parker of Franklin, Lee Parker of LaGrange, and Jeff and Katie Parker of Florida, very close and personal friends Jeff and Dianne Brown, T.J. Brown and Kimberly Young. He is also survived by his very loyal Liberty Pest Control Family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Parker and Ray Parker.

Funeral services will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jackie Taylor and Rev. T.J. Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Gray Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm.
