The LaGrange Academy softball team improved to 4-1 with a 12-4 victory over Central-Fellowship on Monday.

Sumer Coile started and pitched four innings, and she struck out 11 batters and gave up three hits.

Ali Herring pitched the fifth and final inning of a game shortened because of the run rule.

The Lady Warriors went up 3-0 in the first inning, with Herring and Caitlynn Croft each coming through with big hits.

After scoring a single run in the second inning on a Coile single, LaGrange Academy broke it open with four runs in the third inning, with Tazsa Garrett-Hammett, Leah Major and Abby Walker each coming through with clutch hits.

In the fourth, Garrett-Hammett’s inside-the-park home run brought in three more runs, and Brandi Smalls capped the scoring with an RBI single in the fifth inning.

LaGrange Academy hosts region foe Windsor at 5 p.m. today.
