The Callaway Cavaliers were defeated by Lovett 56-21 Friday night in Atlanta.
Callaway (0-2) had several turnovers and penalties, and the dynamic Lions offense proved to be too much for the Cavaliers’ young defense.
The score was tied at 7-7 in the second quarter, but it all fell apart for Callaway after that.
“Lovett’s as good a team as I’ve ever coached against,” Cavaliers head coach Pete Wiggins said.
Lovett quarterback Jon-athan Carkhuff was also spot-on, according to Wiggins.
“He’s one of the best I’ve seen at this level,” he said.
Quarterback Quan Bray scored twice on the ground, and he also threw a touchdown to wide receiver Quantavius Leslie.
Running back Marquis Terrell also scored on the ground.
Callaway faces Manchester on the road next week.
