Ms. Melanie Kay Sellers, age 23 of LaGrange, Georgia, formerly of Heard County, passed away after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident.

Funeral services for Ms. Sellers will be conducted on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. from the Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Lynn Janney officiating. The interment will follow in the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received guests at the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home in Franklin, Georgia, on Monday evening, February 11, 2013, from 6-8 P.M.

Ms. Sellers was born in Warm Springs, Georgia, on September 25, 1989, the daughter of Wanda Carol Barber Sellers and Joseph Malone Sellers. Melanie was a much-loved member of the Heard County High School Graduating Class of 2007, and loved singing and being in the Heard Lion’s Club Talent Show. She was a Christian by faith, and a cashier at the Summit Gas Station in LaGrange, Georgia. She had recently become engaged to David Dodson. She was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, and sister. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her mother, Wanda Barber Sellers of Hogansville, GA.; father, Joseph Sellers of LaGrange, GA.; son Abel Lemmon of Woodbury, GA.; grandmother, Velma Barber of Ephesus; Fiancé, David Dodson of LaGrange, GA.; 2 sisters, Pam Sellers of LaGrange, GA., and Melinda Meade of Douglassville, GA.; and two brothers, Will Jenkins of LaGrange, GA., and Lamar Sellers also of LaGrange, GA.

The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
