Two face pimping, prostitution charges

A man and woman were charged by LaGrange police with pimping and prostitution after an undercover bust at the town and Country Motel at 712 New Franklin Road on Saturday.

Police said they had received complaints that a male was pimping females out for prostitution. They were able to arrange a meeting with him at the motel under the pretense that the female would be paid for sex. The man and woman were arrested when they arrived.

Police charged Dandre Reaves, 32, of King’s Park Lane with one count of pimping. Yyvonne Anne Smith, 39, of Whitesville Street was charged with prostitution.

Youth charged with theft, marijuana possession

LaGrange police charged a youth with theft and marijuana possession after stopping the juvenile and another youth on Hill Street.

The youth was seen carrying a “Do not enter” street sign and carrying a backpack. The youth admitted to taking the bag from a truck at LaGrange Mall, according to a report.

The report did not state why the juvenile was charged with marijuana possession.

Drug arrest

LaGrange police charged Ruennada Denise Laye, 20, whose address was unavailable, with possession of a synthetic drug after she was found in the first block of Habersham Drive with an ecstasy pill in a pack of cigarettes.

Thefts, burglaries

•Someone broke a window and got inside a classroom at the Boys & Girls Club of West Georgia at 623 Juniper St. early Sunday. Nothing was taken from the building.

•A man in the 100 block of Fannin Court said someone broke his kitchen window and took a $500 Samsung TV from his house, along with a wooden chest and a DVD player. The chest contained a security box with his car title and other important papers. A jar of about $45 in change also was taken.

•An employee of Kent’s Automotive at 716 S. Greenwood St. said someone took four wheels off a 1986 Firebird parked in front of the business. The wheels are valued at $1,000.

•Eighteen Xanax pills were stolen from a woman’s house in the 400 block of South Lee Street.

•A man told LaGrange police someone he gave a ride to on Commerce Avenue took $120 from the center console of his car.

•A Kobalt socket set worth $40 was taken from a car that also was ransacked while it was parked at LaGrange College at 601 Broad St.

•Two employees of Trinidad Benham at 100 Pegasus Parkway reported their vehicles were broken into Sunday. The owners admitted leaving the vehicles unlocked. A black jacket, cell phone, sunglasses and a 1,000-watt amplifier, along with two speakers were taken from the first car. Missing items totaled $905. The second vehicle had a purse and wallet with various identification taken from it, for a total value of $130.

•The cashier at the Pure station at 1708 Hamilton Road said someone pried open the door of a drink machine, causing $500 in damage, and taking about $200 in cash.

•A woman in the 400 block of Bacon Street said two purses were taken from her unlocked Chevrolet Impala.

•A $150 speaker, $200 amplifier and $150 iPod touch were taken from a Jeep Wrangler in the 800 block of Dallis Street The alleged thieves got in through the soft top of the vehicle.
