Care baskets for breast cancer patients
The Troup County breast cancer support group, Breast Friends for Life, is in need of new or gently used baskets. BFFL makes gift baskets for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Baskets need to have a handle. No Christmas or Easter baskets. Baskets may be dropped off with Wanda Lowe at Enoch Callaway Cancer Center, 111 Medical Drive next to West Georgia Health. For more information, contact Lowe at 706-845-3866.
Meals for Circles of Troup County
Circles of Troup County, the county poverty initiative, needs volunteers to prepare the meal for participants, their children and volunteers attending the weekly meetings. Providing a free meal and free childcare each week greatly reduces barriers for single mothers to attend our meetings that help them set goals to become self-sufficient. Meals include a lean meat, three vegetables and fresh fruit for 40 people. No drinks or dessert. The cost of the food can be reimbursed up to $100 a week. For information or to volunteer to prepare a meal, contact Sherri Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 706-883-1687.
Submit items to Matthew Strother at email@example.com, at our office at 105 Ashton St. or by fax to 706-884-8712.
