About 300 people from around Georgia converged on LaGrange on Saturday for the annual “fall ramble,” sponsored by the Georgia Trust.
LaGrange, Warm Springs, Pine Mountain, Talbotton and West Point were on the tour, which started Friday, but Sandy Springs resident Fran Pearson said LaGrange was her favorite stop.
“It’s a charming city,” she said. “Everything is centrally located.”
Pearson has been on the annual “rambles,” touring historic cities around Georgia for about 20 years.
“It’s interesting to see what the cities are doing to preserve the past,” she said. “Georgia has a lot of gems.”
Ramblers had breakfast Saturday at LaGrange College’s Lamar Dodd Art Center, then later had lunch at the college’s Nick Allen Pavilion.
The tour wrapped up Sunday at Hills & Dales Estate.
The rambles annually feature self-guided tours, educational visits and social events in historic properties that aren’t usually open to the public.
