Officers found a TV hidden underneath a house after responding to an attempted burglary.
Officers responded to the 900 block of Callaway Avenue late Friday night in reference to a possible burglary in progress. The victim told police that he was in one of three homes on Callaway Avenue that he owns when he heard commotion outside.
He called 911 and walked outside to the driveway, and as police arrived and were approaching the back of the house of one of the vacant houses, the victim saw two or three black males jumped the fence ran down the hill to Todd Street.
Officers walked to the back of the house and located a crawl space, which suspects apparently had tried to enter. After they opened the door to the crawl space, officers found a Sylvania flat screen TV inside.
The burglars apparently had not entered the residences, but officers said the TV was stolen the day before from a residence across the street. The victim of the TV burglary couldn’t confirm if the TV was hers at the time due because she had no paperwork.
The homeowners couldn’t give a clear description of the suspects.
