Cynthia Gates passed away Sunday at Columbus Medical Center.

She was born January 6, 1968, to Emmett Phillips and the late Daisy Gates.

She attended school in the Troup County School System.

Survivors include two children: Shabrica Gates and Willie Gates; grandchildren: NyQuariou, D’Marzavion, Ja’Novianna, and Ja’Marion; father, Emmett Phillips, sisters: Dorothy Williams and Carla Gates; brother, Joe Lee Thompson; brother-in-law, Peter J. Brown; uncles: Richard Parker, Roger Gates, James, Gates, Willie Jenkins; aunts: Lillie Todd, Sarah Thornton, Dorothy Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at 1:00 PM at Warren Temple U M Church with Rev. Jesse Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
