Edward Cofield passed awy December 22, 2012, at West Georgia Health, LaGrange, Georgia.

He was born January 4, 1954, in LaGrange (Troup County) Georgia to the late Fannie Pearl Cofield Harrison and Ralph Stevens.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Arizona Hand where he gained one son and was blessed with a second son.

He was a member of Mt. Beulah Baptist Church. Edward was affiliated with St. Clyde Lodge # 1, LaGrange, Georgia.

He was a graduate of Troup High School; and was formerly employed with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office where he was known as “Sarge.”

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Arizona Hand Cofield; two sons, Montez Hand (fiancé’ Shemetris) and Deondrez Green; one grandson, Mondarius Hand; one granddaughter, Matysha Hand; three brothers, Tommy Roman, Jerry (Valerie) Cofield, and Michael (Suellen) Cofield; mother-in-law, Freddie Sue McFarland; three sisters-in-law, Priscilla Bray, Wanda Hand, and Angela Huzzie; two brothers-in-law, Willie (Jackie) Hand, Frankie (Barbara) Hurston; uncles, Henry Thomas, Paul Stevens, and L. C. Stevens; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012, at 3:00 PM at New Community Church, South Davis Road, with Pastor W. C. Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
