Mr. Jack Tipsword, 74, of LaGrange passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Tipsword was born August 4, 1938 in St. Elmo, Illinois, son of the late Lewis Cecil and Earline Edwards Tipsword. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service. Mr. Tipsword was a member and usher at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He loved riding motorcycle and reading westerns.

He is survived by his wife, Elssie Tipsword of LaGrange; daughter and son-in-law, Teresia (Terry) and Larry Edwards of Lilburn; sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie Jr. and Holly Tipsword of Acworth, Dwaine and Ginny Tipsword of LaGrange, and Michael and Paula Tipsword of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, Cassandra Hanner, Jacqueline Tipsword, Megan Tipsword, Natalie Tipsword and Emily Tipsword; brother, John Tipsword of New York; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Bobby Pennington of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 Wednesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Kevin Hargaden officiating. There will be a Rosary at 7:00 Tuesday evening at the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel followed by a visitation from 7:00 until 9:00.
