Mr. James Edward “Ed” Lasater Jr., 52, of Charlotte, NC, and formerly of Hogansville, died Sunday, February 24, 2013.

Mr. Lasater was born June 9, 1960, in Newnan and was raised in Hogansville. He received a bachelor of science degree from the University of West Georgia and was employed as a geologist.

Survivors include his mother, Amelia Denicke Lasater of St. Simons Island; sister and brother in-law, Kathy and Mark Rogers of Mountville; nieces, Rebecca Rogers Robinson and Jamie Rogers. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. “Jim” Lasater.

A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Kerry Wright officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately before and after the memorial service.
