Head coach Jan Jones subbed early and often as LaGrange had no problems beating a winless Shaw team.
“The goal was to let our starters rest up for (today), and get some other kids in,” Jones said. “We did that.”
The Lady Grangers (15-3 overall) moved to 5-2 in Region 5-AAA.
Andrea Heflin led LaGrange with 13 points, and Tajah Banks added with 10 points.
Sophomore Cheteya Tucker, who has been betting more minutes with the varsity team of late, added seven points and did a stellar job on the defensive end, according to Jones.
In Friday’s boys’ game, the Grangers fell short, 55-39.
“We had too many turnovers, and not enough production,” LaGrange head coach Mike Pauley said. “That’s just the way it is.”
Justyn Olson led the way with nine points, and Don Leak added eight points.
LaGrange will host Columbus today, with the girls’ game starting at 4 p.m. and the boys’ game to follow.
