Louise (Prather) McGhee was born Nov. 15, 1935, to the late Deacon Idus (Buddy) and Jennie Lee Prather in Meriwether County. God called home early on the morning of Sept. 29, 2012, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
She joined Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Greenville. Later, she joined True Worship Baptist Church in LaGrange. Louise was a founding board member and mother of the church. She served faithfully until death. Louise was united in holy matrimony to Willie McGhee Jr., who preceeded her in death.
She leaves to cherish a loving daughter Evangelist Idus Joyce and Pastor Willie L. Hutchinson of LaGrange; one brother, Mr. George (Virginia) Prather of Woodbury; two autns, Mrs. Catherine Gates and Mrs. Lillian Rosser; and one uncle, Mr. Alonzo Prather, all of Hogansville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Oct. 6 at New Beginning Baptist Church, 506 Ware St. in LaGrange.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law at 223 Rutland Circle in LaGrange.
