Men robbed at gunpoint at Shuford Fields

Two men were allegedly robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of Shuford Fields late Monday evening.

According to police reports, officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Laurel Lane at 8:07 p.m. in reference to a robbery that occurred at Shuford Fields on Calumet Drive.

The two men said that they were sitting in one of the victim’s car at Shuford Fields parking lot when a black vehicle, then a blue vehicle pulled up behind the car in which they were sitting. Four black males approached the drivers side and began hitting the victim seated in the driver’s side with an unknown hard object while a gun was put to his head. One of the four suspects said, “Give me all of your money,” according to the report. At that time, a black male approached the passenger side and pointed a gun at the the other victim while saying “Give me all your money.”

The victim in the driver’s seat said he recognized one of the suspects from high school as he reached into the vehicle and took a light brown wallet.

The victim in the driver’s seat said, as the suspects were walking away, he put the car in reverse, possibly striking the blue vehicle and drove off. He stated the suspects fled towards Calumet Drive.

One of the victims had visible bleeding and swelling when officers arrived, but refused treatment.

The case is still under investigation.
