It’s Fire Prevention Week and LaGrange Fire Department is partnering with the National Fire Prevention Association and Domino’s Pizza to promote fire safety with free pizza possibilities.
Anyone who orders pizza from Domino’s today through Thursday between 4 and 6 p.m. may randomly be surprised when their pizza is delivered by a fire engine.
With the delivery of a pizza, firefighters will ask to inspect the customer’s smoke alarms. If the smoke alarms are in working order, the pizza is free. If the alarms are not in working order the firefighters will either replace the batteries or will install a fully functional alarm.
“Fire safety is vitally important,” said Mike Orcutt, LaGrange Domino’s Pizza franchise owner. “We are thrilled to work with the NFPA and the fire department on a program to promote the safety of our friends and neighbors and to reward those who make fire safety a priority.”
“Fire Prevention Week is a great time of year to change the batteries in your smoke alarms,” said Chris Smith, LaGrange Fire chief of operations. “Functioning smoke alarms save lives, but many people forget to maintain the batteries. We are excited to be working with our local Domino’s Pizza to promote good fire safety precautions by rewarding residents who have working smoke alarms with a free, delicious pizza.”
LaGrange Fire Lt. Christopher Taylor said the LaGrange Fire Department has planned more events and educational opportunities for the public throughout the month.
