Man receives life without parole in murder charge

Daniell Allen was sentenced Tuesday to life without parole and another consecutive life sentence for the murder of Dwayne Louder on Jan. 2, 2010.

A Troup County jury found Allen guilty on counts of malice murder, felony murder and kidnapping with bodily injury. Allen, according to prosecutors and witnesses, shot a bound Louder in his vehicle in an area off Smokey Road, unloading one gun then shooting him three more times to “make sure he was dead.”

“We see a lot of murder cases come across the bench, but seldom do we see one that is as cold-blooded as this is,” Superior Court Judge Quillian Baldwin told Allen before announcing his sentencing. “There was no reason to shoot Mr. Louder. You may not have liked him, he may have crossed you on a deal, but there was no reason to shoot him.”

Baldwin combined the two murder counts for a single life without parole sentence and the consecutive life sentence for the kidnapping with bodily harm charge.

Allen did not make a statement to the court when asked, other than to say that he would appeal the verdict.

The good life was not worth dying for. Wanting the good life was not worth killing for. Now you have a life sentence. Don't know none of the people involved but the biggest feeling I have is for the little girl who probably have been hurt the most. All involved gave her a life sentence also. I'm sure she's having issues today. She don't have a daddy, so no reason for the killing of this man. But in the drug game its all type risk. Mighty high price to be a dealer. But if yall robbed him of the drugs and money. He can't report it. all ready a known drug dealer. So now I think you would not be able to handle retaliation. So at the end of your trial you didn't even address the family or the little girl that you also gave a LIFE sentence. You say I want to appeal the verdict. But you didn't wanna face or man up after robbery kidnapping and murder. Your Verdict should be final. You made sure he was dead. Don't make that lil girl go thru another unnecessary trial.
