Two LaGrange residents were injured Wednesday afternoon in a car wreck on Whitesville Road.
Georgia State Patrol Trooper Brad Turner was dispatched to Whitesville Road near Wood Valley Drive at about 1:22 p.m. Wednesday to the wreck where the drivers of both cars were injured.
The accident is still being investigated, but Turner said that physical evidence matched the with what a witness of the crash had stated. A white, newer model Camry, driven by Donald Murphy, 59 was traveling southbound on Whitesville Road and, for an unknown reason, the car drifted into the northbound lane striking the driver’s side of an oncoming gold, older model Camry, driven by Electa Brown, 78.
Brown was extricated from her vehicle by firefighters and AMR worked “pretty intently” on her before she was airlifted to the Columbus Medical Center, according to Turner. Murphy sustained head trauma and was transported to the West Georgia Medical Center.
Brown is listed in satisfactory condition as of Thursday morning. Murphy’s condition has not been released by WGMC.
