Breaking news: Mallory sentenced to 1,000 years in prison
by Staff report

Former TV33 owner Peter Mallory was sentenced today to 1,000 years in jail.

Mallory was convicted in December on charges including 60 counts of sexual exploitation of children. Troup County Superior Court Judge Dennis Blackmon sentenced Mallory to 20 years for each for the first 50 counts of sexual exploitation of children to be served consecutively, a total of 1,000 years, with a concurrent sentence of five years for each of the last 10 counts.

Mallory also was sentenced to concurrent five-year counts on three invasion of privacy charges and a concurrent 12 months for tampering with evidence. He will serve the sentence in a state penitentiary.

For more from Tuesday’s sentencing hearing, see Wednesday’s edition of LaGrange Daily News.

You see, the problem is that many people do not see the damage done to innocent children who are forced into child porn. After counseling hundreds of adults who were victims of childhood sexual abuse, many are ritually abused withing cults, gang raped, tortured, etc. So by supporting the child-porn industry, one is a contributor to the crimes against children. Abuse costs the US alone over 200 billion dollars per year. This doesn't count the many lives destroyed by abuse.

Abuse in Our Community is a campaign to raise awareness of the horrors associated with child abuse. I speak as an expert in this matter, and the fact that many fail to support the victims rather than the perpetrators is not only an indication of denial, but self-serving and cold-hardheartedness towards the millions of innocent children, abused at the hands of grown men and women, who have absolute power over these innocent children. Without a campaign, raising awareness, then where do we start in protecting our children?

RevDarrell said, where do we start in protecting our children?

ItsMeWitts said, a good place to start is in the churches. Leaders of our churches should start correcting its members and not allow them to continue in their sins if they claim to be Christians. I believe Peter Mallory claims to be a Christian. Personally with fruits like he is bearing its not the fruits of a true Christian. Children are not even safe in the Churches because sin has been allowed to remain in the churches and in the believers life.

What does the bible say about a believer (brother or sister in Christ) that continues to live in sin?

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

The first sign of knowing of the fault there should be an attempt by those which are spiritual to restore a brother or sister. We should never take up for them and say, none of us is perfect. That’s a cop out and that causes sin to be increased in the churches, homes, cities, nations.

This is what the leaders of the church should be doing to help the children according to The word of God. “ Restore Church Discipline back to the Church”

In answering your question, “Where do we start in protecting our children?”

We start in the Church. The Church is suppose to be a light that shines in darkness. If the light has gone out, darkness is spreading everywhere. Light the candle of truth in the churches and see how much darkness flees. Porno is darkness from the pits of hell. Lets start there. Shine the light on the darkness so it will flee from the people, from the churches, from the cities, from the nations. I understand sin is everywhere and evil is everywhere, but I also understand the Church is set among us to show us the right way. Its also suppose to show us what to do if a Christians refuses to walk the right way. We try to correct them and instruct them in righteousness with a meek spirit, lest we also fall into temptation. If they refuse to hear us, we take someone else with us to try and correct them and restore them. If that doesn’t work we take them before the Church and if they still do not repent and be converted then we put them out of the Churches and turn them over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the soul might be saved. Instead of us following the teachings of the new testament by applying church discipline like that we have compromised and accepted the sinners to remain in among us with the excuse that none of us is perfect. That’s hog wash…Jesus told us to be perfect….Matthew 5:48... 1 Kings 8:61 says….. Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day. Paul said be perfect….when the churches start teaching like the new testament says teach…we just might see less of these actions of gross darkness covering the earth, and Christianity might just get a better name that what its become in our generation. Lets start at the Church….Lets become the light that’s set on a hill and lets reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and be obedient to the Word of God…if necessary we should also rebuke sharply….That’s a great place to start. If we don’t start rebuking sin and darkness the Lord will….

Isaiah 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Church Discipline…….. Matthew 18:15-20.……..1 Corinthians 5:1-13)…..

What seems to be a thoroughly proper, just conviction is only cheapened by Judge Blackmon's 1,000-year sentence, obviously made for media consumption and little else.

Our judicial system is harmed by such exaggerated bombast from the bench.

For that matter taxpayers are hurt, as well. The ridiculous sentence only gives Mallory an instant reason to appeal. The taxpaying public is then stuck with the bill for the state's attempts to uphold the sentence in our higher courts.

I do not know Judge Blackmon, but I commend him for his decision and his stance against child abuse and exploitation.

From I have read of this case, the evidence in this case from my understanding subjected many innocent children to sexual acts and or/positions.

This sickens me to the core of my soul, and cannot understand how anyone doesn't feel the same.

Concerning the 1000 year sentence, it could have been a 100 year sentence? I'm not familiar enough with the judicial system to state a professional opinion, but I feel the purpose of this was NOT for recognition, but to send a message to the public and raise awareness of the seriousness of Child Abuse and Child Sexual Exploitation.

I have total confidence in our judicial system including but not limited to, our police officers, investigators, judges, prosecutors, as well as the men and women of this community who contribute to justice in many forms.

I strongly feel that the intentions of Judge Blackmon were fair and honest, and that he utilized the fullest extent of the law in this case; NOT for publicity, but to send a message of AWARENESS, (which is part of my Child Abuse Campaign); that child porn is a very serious crime against OUR children.

When it comes to protecting OUR children, NOT only am I more than glad to see our tax-dollars spent to protect them to the highest possible level, but would do anything within my power to protect the innocence of one child, to protect ONE child from abuse.

SO I ask you, How can we put a price on the safety and well-being of OUR children. I say OUR children because we all have a duty and responsibility to protect the children of this community at any an all costs.

Thank you.

Justice is Served. But this doesn't heal all of the innocent children who were sexually abused and exploited in making child porn. I think a 10 million dollar law suit would be in order.

Why not make it a 100 million. How the hell is money supposed to fix anything, and who gets the money other than the lawyers. I have not had the opportunity to follow this case, but there is always more than is reported on the news. Especially in the case of Peter Mallory, he always shoots from the hip and does not care if he offends his competition.

If LaGrange Daily News, or any news agency downloads images of any kind to do a story, are they in violation of the law. And exactly what are the boundaries to be considered "porn". Most things that are broadcast on cable TV fall into some sort of porn category. Where do we start and where do we end.

"Justice Served" my ass. When judges, lawyers, police, and all involved put personal emotions into the case, there is no justice. It is always "justice" when your personal agenda is met.

1000 years in jail just makes the court look stupid. From what I read, Mallory was not even close to what others have done far worse and gotten sentenced far less--so where is "Justice Served?"

Why Not make it 100 million? I was being conservative, however, 100 mill would probably help a lot of abused, hungry and neglected children.

What is Child Porn? In this particular case, it was stated about 1 year ago in LaGrange Daily News that Mallory, 63, allegedly possessed

*60 images or videos depicting MINORS IN SEXUAL SITUATIONS, which District Attorney Pete Skandalakis said came from multiple sources.

He also is charged with taping a person without their consent at the former TV-33 studio at 211 Fort Drive and concealing a hard drive containing evidence.

I totally agree that some of the smut on television, etc. with little girls dressing up to appear "sexy" is sickening and is a statement of the disregard of concern for the well being of our children by society. i have spoken out against such events, and shall continue to do so.

I have been a chld advocate for eight years, and have counseled numerous adults who were abused as children, mostly sexual abuse. It's shocking as to the life-long affect this has on a child.

To purchase stolen property makes one an accessory to the crime, esp if done knowingly.

In a very similar manner, To obtain Child Porn is contributing to an industry that has No regard for the child. In most cases children are forced into these "sexual acts", and many are tortured. this stays with the child for life.

If LaGrange Daily News would publish an article on statistics, as well as testimonies by adults who were sexually abused as children, i think people would begin to understand the seriousness of Child Porn, and the magnitude of Child Abuse in our own community.

Jesus said it were better that a millstone be hung around your neck and cast into the sea than to abuse a child.
