The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the death of a woman early Sunday at Hogansville and Tin Bridge Roads.
Troopers say Danielle Lee Turner, 32, of Westwood Drive in LaGrange, was struck by a car while walking in the middle of the road about 1 a.m. Sunday.
“We suspect alcohol may be involved,” said Sgt. Maurice Raines.
The driver of the car who hit Turner is not being identified by the state patrol, pending the results of a specialized collision response team investigation. Raines said the incident was not a hit and run, the driver stayed with Turner and is cooperating with officers. The driver has not yet been charged in the incident.
Results of the investigation could take up to six months, Raines said.
