A LaGrange man faces 14 counts of sexual exploitation of children after allegedly hosting child pornography on online peer-to-peer sharing networks.
The LaGrange Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began an investigation Dec. 28 into an IP address in LaGrange offering images of suspected child pornography for trade through a peer-to-peer network.
Detectives traced the IP address to a residence on Briar Cliff Road, and the address was issued to a Charter Communications account held by Andrew Scott, 28, of LaGrange.
About 7:30 a.m. Thursday, officers served a search warrant for the residence and found images and videos of alleged child porn on Scott’s computer.
Detective William Nelson led the investigation and said that 14 images of suspected child porn had been found on the computers so far. Nelson said that detectives seized two computers and two or three hard drives from the residence. Detective Scott Lewis will be further examining the computers and hard drives in search of more images.
Scott was transported to the Troup County jail where he was being held this morning without bond.
