More than 400 job seekers waited in line to present resumes and answer interview questions at a job fair on Tuesday. The job fair began at 9 a.m. at 103 Webster Road. and lasted until 2 p.m.
“We’ve had a wonderful response,” Kim Petrina, owner of A1 employment said.
Petrina said applicants drove from as far as Newnan and Franklin, and ranged in age from 18-year-olds to grandparents.
“We welcome them all and do anything we can to help them find employment,” she said.
The personal job fair was aimed at filling approximately 40 positions at a large company in LaGrange, as well as additional positions at two other companies. Applicants provided an application, resume and received a personal interview from one of three staffing associates, Petrina said.
“I’m willing to do any job they give me,” Justin Davis of LaGrange said. Davis said he waited in line for an hour before going inside.
Christopher Bolling graduated from LaGrange College with a Master’s degree in May and said the job fair is one of many ways he is looking employment.
“I started looking as soon as I graduated,” he said. “I am looking in the education field and am certified in biology and life sciences in the state of Georgia.”
