Downtown scarecrows highlight Halloween spirit
by Staff Report

Downtown LaGrange is again welcoming the fall season with an impressive array of scarecrows.

This is the third year that Downtown LaGrange Development Authority is sponsoring a contest to select the best scarecrows in three different categories.

Several area merchants, individuals and organizations have joined in the fun displaying colorful and imaginative creations around the LaGrange downtown area. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Historical Character, the Most Original and the Best Representative of Business or organization. The community is invited to get in on the fun and vote for their favorite scarecrow entry in each of the three categories.

All of the scarecrows are pictured on facebook. To cast your vote, visit www.facebook.com/downtownlagrange and click on the actual photo of the scarecrow that you want to vote for, be sure to click the “like” button under the selected image to cast your vote. The contest winners will be announced on Oct. 27, 2012 at the 22nd Annual Chili Cook Off event held on Lafayette Square.

As you shop in downtown LaGrange, be sure to personally visit each of these seasonal entries, they are exceptionally good this year.
