A Mazda Millenia sedan and a Ford Explorer SUV collided at Murphy Avenue, and the Explorer then struck a pole. Police were investigating and said one of the vehicles failed to yield, but had not yet determined which was at fault.

Commissioners reject cell tower lease agreement
Troup County Commissioners on Tuesday didn’t approve a new deal for a cell tower lease on Roanoke Road. County Manager Tod Tentler said the new lease would give the county $82,500 for a 99-year lease on the tower.
