The LaGrange Art Museum announced Wednesday the hiring of Sallie Keith as the museum’s new education director. Keith joins the museum staff with more than 29 years of teaching experience as a former National Board-certified teacher in early and middle childhood art. The Troup County Grand Jury suggested the Troup County Jail needs much improvement after its inspection of the site this month. The jurors said the site is clean and well maintained, but the iron rust on the dental room floor, damage to the floor in the processing area and a shattered window in one of the rooms should be repaired or replaced. City officials reported Monday that the Hillview Cemetery had been vandalized, with extensive damage done to many of its grave sites. The Board of Education on Thursday is expected to vote on a balanced tentative budget for the 2013-14 school year of $95,929,746.
