Storm brings little damage to area
The line of severe storms that brought tornadoes to parts of the Southeast on Wednesday and Thursday for the most part spared Troup County. The county was under a tornado watch until 4 a.m. today and a severe thunderstorm warning about 11 p.m. with high winds reported in the area. Multiple trees were down on power lines at South Davis and Hamilton Roads. Other limbs down, along with scattered power outages, were reported.

Pollen count is bad news for allergy sufferers
Thursday night’s shower may have washed away some pollen, but is expected to return in very high counts today. The Weather Channel predicted “Very High” pollen count for the area through Monday in its four-day forecast and the yellow dust has been taking a toll on allergy-proneresidents. A woman is charged with criminal damage after she allegedly chased a naked woman to a car dealership before damaging two cars, according to LaGrange police. A police report said that Officer Joshua Clower responded to Fosters Auto Sales on Hamilton Road Tuesday morning in reference to a disturbance. Local law enforcement agencies see decrease in drug arrests
Drug arrests in LaGrange were down slightly in 2012 from 2011, but have increased statewide, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The arrests reported from the LaGrange Police Department and Troup County Sheriff’s Office totaled 395 felony drug-related arrests in 2012, down from 408 in 2011.
