Bright future for Tigers When the Troup Tigers were beaten by Redan on Tuesday in the state semifinals, it closed the book on a group of seniors who have left a lasting imprint on the program.

While replacing those seniors won’t be an easy task, the Tigers do have an impressi...

Small ball suits Tigers just fine For the Troup Tigers, small ball equals winning ball.
The Tigers, who have made it to the Class AAAA state semifinals where they’ll take on Redan on Monday, are getting it done in large part because of their ability to score runs in a lot of different ways.
While some teams sit back and wait on the big hit, the Tigers are all about putting pressure on the defense.
They do it with the bunt, they do it with stolen bases, they do it with aggre...
Grangers wrapping up spring practice When the LaGrange Grangers open their season this fall, senior quarterback Zach Giddens will be under center.
As the Grangers put the finishing touches on their two-week spring-practice period, though, Giddens has yet to take a snap as he recovers from an injury suffered during baseball season.
Giddens will be good to go in a few weeks, but he has just been a spectator during spring practice, which wraps up Friday at Granger Park.
With Gidd...

Pitching leads the way for Troup KATHLEEN - Troup baseball coach Craig Garner wasn’t sure what role pitcher Jacob Ozley would play during Tuesday’s state-playoff doubleheader against Veterans.
Garner knew Ozley was going to pitch, he just didn’t know if he’d do it as a starter, or a relief pitcher.
After consulting with Ozley, Garner decided to use the left-hander out of the bullpen, and that decision paid big-time dividends.
Ozley ended up pitching five innings in the two...
