CASA, Ricky’s Ride combined event draws bikers, supporters

The parking lot of the Baptist Tabernacle Church on Saturday morning was packed with people, motorcycles, trucks and Jeeps for the combined ride to benefit CASA and Ricky’s Ride, a new event to promote motorcycle safety.The Blue Knights motorcycle club this year partnered with CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates - to promote the event. Bob Awtrey, president of the local chapter of the Blue Knights, said the group discovered Ricky’s Ride was set for the same day as their ride to benefit CASA and proposed combining the two, which came out great, drawing a large crowd to the combined event.
