According to the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy (G.C.C.A), one in ten children will be sexually abused before the age of 18.Ninety percent of child victims also know their abuser.Startling statistics, that has led Twin Cedars Youth and Family Services, along with the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, to set a lofty goal. They hope to train five percent of the adult population in Troup County, more than 2,400 people, to learn the signs of child sexual abuse and react responsibly through the Darkness to Light “Stewards of Children” program.


Man arrested after allegedly fleeing traffic checkpoint

A Horace King Street man was arrested by LaGrange Police Saturday night after he fled a traffic safety checkpoint on Union Street.The man initially stopped at the checkpoint and when officers asked for his license, he told police he’d left his wallet at home, according to police reports.
