Child rapist sentenced to four life sentences

Troup County Superior Court Judge Dennis Blackmon on Monday showed little mercy in sentencing convicted child rapist Daryl E. McGruder to four consecutive life sentences with an additional 20 years.McGruder was found guilty of four counts of aggravated child molestation and one count of child molestation Friday by a jury of 12 Troup County residents.“No man-made punishment will be appropriate for this type of violence. (This sentence) is not sufficient for what you’ve done, but it will have to do,” Blackmon said to McGruder during sentencing.
