Perdue addresses supporters in LaGrange

U.S. Senate Candidate David Perdue, a Republican, made a campaign stop Wednesday in LaGrange as part of the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce’s initiative to educate voters.Perdue, trails Democrat Michelle Nunn by less than one percentage point in a WRBL/Columbus Ledger-Inquirer poll done Oct.13 and 14, is in a tight race that may shape which party controls the U.S. Senate. Nunn visited the LaGrange last month.About 50 supporters came to hear Perdue, who mingled with supporters at the chamber’s conference room on Bull Street shortly after 11 a.m. He answered questions, took photos and shook hands.

Man arrested after allegedly throwing chair, injuring wife

A Whitaker Street man was charged Wednesday with felony false imprisonment and battery, both under the Family Violence Act, after he allegedly threw a chair at his wife during an argument, bloodied her nose and held her captive.Richard W.
