Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Michelle Nunn made an afternoon campaign stop in LaGrange on Friday, speaking to a crowd of more than 40 supporters at the LaGrange Troup Chamber of Commerce on Bull street.Nunn also spoke at LaGrange College and stopped for a lemonade at Charlie Joseph’s downtown.Speaking before the crowd, the ninth-generation Georgian and daughter of former U.S. Sen. Sam Nunn said she is the candidate that can work with both sides of the aisle to accomplish the most for Georgians and the country. She will face Republican nominee David Perdue in the Nov. 4 midterm election. Perdue will visit the chamber on Oct. 22.

A week-long manhunt ended Friday when police said they captured a man suspected of killing a 20-year-old Callaway Avenue man.Devonte Cortez Thorpe was taken into custody Friday afternoon and is suspecting of slaying DeJerius Hardnett last Sunday.
