Officer rescues abused pit bulls

Police rescued three pit bull dogs from a Hunnicutt Avenue home Monday and were unable to make contact with the homeowner.While on patrol, an officer observed one of the dogs chained to the side of a residence on the 1700 block of the street, the report said. The officer exited his patrol vehicle and went the the rear of the residence where he observed two more pit bulls who were “emaciated and I could observe the dogs’ ribs and vertebrae,” the report said....
