Animals transported from LaGrange Veterinary Hospital after fire

Fire crews were still at the scene where a fire was reported this morning at the LaGrange Veterinary Hospital.According to Lt. Chris Taylor of the LaGrange Fire Department, the fire was reported shortly after 8 a.m., where additional off-duty fire personnel were called to the scene to assist with evacuations.Seventy-five animals, four of the clinic’s staff and two clients all escaped the building unharmed, Taylor said.The fire crew arrived on the scene and found moderate to heavy smoke conditions coming from the attic of the building, but no flames were visible upon arrival. Flames were located inside the attic of the building.As of 1 p.m. fire and police were still at the scene.
