Here are closings for New Year’s Day:

— City and county government

Troup County, LaGrange and West Point offices will close Thursday.

Hogansville city offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

— Garbage collection

In LaGrange and Hogansville, Thursday’s residential garbage pickups will be on Friday.

In West Point, Thursday collections will be on Wednesday.

Troup County convenience centers for trash and recycling will be closed Thursday.

— Federal offices

Federal offices and post offices will be closed Thursday, as will financial institutions.

— State offices

State offices will be closed Thursday.

The Department of Driver Services driver’s license office is closed Thursday and Friday, but reopens Saturday.

— Libraries

LaGrange Memorial Library and Hogansville Library will be closed Wednesday through Sunday.

Hawkes Library in West Point will be closed Wednesday through Sunday.

— Newspaper

The offices of LaGrange Daily News will be closed Thursday, but that day’s edition will be published as usual.
