Mrs. Ola Mae Hammett, 66, of Hogansville, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Hammett was born Nov. 3, 1945, in Lone Oak, daughter of the late Charlie and Leila Brown Richardson. She lived in Hogansville most of her life, attended New Life Ministries in LaGrange, was employed by Uniroyal, Inc. for 24 years, and retired from Carter’s after 13 years of service.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Hammett; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Ricky Buice; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Christie Hammett, all of Hogansville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Buddy and Donnie Richardson, Hogansville, Dan and Marie Richardson, LaGrange, Hugh and Georgia Richardson, Broomfield, CO, Frank and Darlene Richardson, Boise, ID; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Dondra Richardson Brazeal, Anna Richardson, Joyce Richardson and was preceded in death by her brothers, Lavone Richardson, Clinard Richardson, Cecil Richardson, and Sammy Richardson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Jeremy Royster and Rev. Jerry Ennis will officiate, with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 tonight.
