Perrin Alford, acting president of West Georgia Technical College, addresses the 118 graduates of the GED program in ceremonies Friday at Callaway Auditorium. Citing change coming with the arrival of Kia and its suppliers, Alford said “This change is creating opportunities of a lifetime” and reminded graduates that “the more education you have, the higher your earning potential.” Debbie Burdette, executive director of Troup County Certified Literate Community Program, presented Gregory Nolan Watson with a certificate of achievement for having the highest score on the GED test.
