Lear-Kyungshin will supply seat belt harnesses and components for the Kia assembly plant, said officials with Valley Partnership, an industrial recruiter.
The company said it will invest $3.5 million in a former warehouse facility in West Point Technology Park.
Meanwhile, a manufacturer of car mats and trunk liners has shelved plans to open a plant in Columbus to supply the Kia factory.
DongNam Tech Co. Ltd. an-nounced last year that it would invest $29 million in a 100,000-square-foot building in the Muscogee Technology Park , creating 350 jobs within five years.
The Columbus Development Authority said Wednesday that South Korea-based DongNam has been purchased by another firm, NVH Korea.
K.B. Lee, president and CEO of DongNam Tech, said the new owner has halted plans to open the automotive supply plant in Columbus, which was intended to provide products to the Kia plant.
