Drugs found after suspect arrested

LaGrange police charged a South Harlem Circle man with cocaine possession Saturday after he got into a fight at Rose’s on South Main Street and officers later found drugs in his belongings.

Felix Vautita Cruz, 23, had been asked by bar security to leave the business for being combative. He was chared with disorderly conduct and taken to the Troup County Jail, where another search found a small bag of suspected cocaine rolled up inside money that officers had taken from his pockets at the scene.

n In a separate arrest, Tynell Vernard Gibson, whose age was unavailable, of West Point, was charged by West Point police Saturday with possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing project, obstruction and hindering of a police officer and disorderly conduct.

Theft

A Hanna Road man told LaGrange police that a thief broke into his car while it was parked on Bull Street and took $1,250 in items, including 100 compact discs and a Maglight flashlight. Several CDs not belonging to the victim were found inside the car.

Damage, trespassing

n A North Page Street man told LaGrange police Friday that while he was at a house on Oak Lane his girlfriend threw rocks at his car, causing his windshield to shatter. Damage was estimated at $300.
