Mrs. Ruth Beasley of 24 East Beasley Road passed away Friday at the West Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Beasley, a native of Troup County, was born April 9, 1944 and was the daughter of the late James Gates and Mary Hardnett.She was a devoted member of Mount Pleasant C.M.E. Church.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Moses Beasley; four daughters and four sons, Dexter Gates, Albert Beasley (LaCosta), Kinta Beasley (Amy Beasley), Chemonica Fanning, Douglas Beasley; Melissa Beasley, Tiffany Mitchell (Shawn), Tika Beasley; sister, Julia Kate Truitt; aunt Emma Lou Martin; 29 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Nathaniel Gates, two brothers and four sisters.

The funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant C.M.E. Church in Mountville. Rev. Eddie Copeland and Rev. Gary Fanning will officiate.Burial will be in the Needmore Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Chemonica ‘Cookie’ Fanning at 600A Revis Street.

Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
