Mrs. Ida L. Hammock, 75, of LaGrange, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at her home.

Born September 17, 1933, in Meriwether County, Mrs. Hammock was the daughter of the late Oliver and Relia Groce Pitts. She lived in Greenville most of her life before making her home in LaGrange ten years ago, was a member of the Baptist church, and retired as a bus driver from the Meriwether School System. She was the wife of the late Hulet C. Hammock.

Survivors include her daughter, Alice Hammock and Michael Moore, of LaGrange; son, Henry Hammock of Corinth; sister, Jessie Knotwell of Fordland, MO; brother, Render Pitts of Senoia; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, in the Mountville Cemetery, with the Rev. James Moon officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Wednesday night at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home.
