A LaGrange woman suffered a neck injury during a head-on collision Wednesday near the intersection of Hammett and Young’s Mill roads.
Cynthia Costley, 57, of Ridgefield Drive was southbound on Young’s Mill Road when another vehicle in the opposite lane swerved in front of her to avoid a deer that had darted in its path.
Costley was treated at West Georgia Medical Center and released.
The other driver, James Harris, 60, of Plum Tree Drive, was cited for failure to maintain lane.
Thefts
n A thief stole an Ipod valued at $200 and a wallet containing several credit cards and $30 from a car in the 100 block of Broad Street.
n A cell phone was stolen from a truck in the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken at 217 New Franklin Road.
n A thief used a LaGrange man’s personal information to buy $800 of jewelry from Kay Jewelers at 1501 Lafayette Parkway.
Arrests
n Johnny Johnson, 50, of Horace Carter Road was charged with possession of methamphetamine after stopped a routine traffic safety checkpoint at the intersection of West Point and Potts roads. Troup County sheriff’s Deputies found several clear plastic bags containing the drug on the passenger seat floorboard of Johnson’s vehicle.
n Georgia state troopers charged Deandrea Brown, 22, of Mobile, Ala., with trafficking in cocaine after stopped on Interstate 85 for a window-tint violation.
n Robert Allen, 17, of Glenda Drive was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
